About harp duo Harparlando

The two young harpists, Johanna Keune and Karin Schnur got to know each other during their studies, founding their harp duo ´Harparlando` in 2009. Since then they have initiated many harp duo concert tours throughout Germany and given numerous concerts.

Harp duo Harparlando has received invitations to play for the ´Society of Friends of The Festspielhaus, Baden-Baden, and the ´German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg`, where the prominent former Federal Chancellor ,Gerhard Schröder, was amongst their audience.  Since February 2010 they have been sponsored by the organisation“Live Music Now”. In October 2011 the harp duo performed a World Premiere as Soloists in Germany’s most important contemporary music festival “Donaueschinger Musiktage”. In 2013, they have recorded their first CD named “Railway”. In 2014, the harp duo Harparlando was among the finalists of the international copetition “Concurso Iberico Isolda” for chamber music with harp, in Madrid. Harparlando’s repertoire ranges from the Baroque era via the Romantic Period right up to the 21st Century. The Duo has enriched their classical recitals with their very own arrangements of jazz standards and world music, performing with verve. A  Double Harp Extravaganza!

Johanna Keune

Harpist, Johanna Keune, was born in southern Germany in 1988 and began playing the harp at age six.

Karin Schnur

Karin Schnur began playing the harp at six years of age, winning many prizes early on, including the First Prize for Youth in the International Händel Festival, The German Youth Competition for Solo Harp and The German Harp Society Competition.
